Welcome

In your travels, you can discover a monument, marker, museum or other memorial to the haunting number of gay people who have died from human rights violations around the world and to the struggle for human rights protection for gay people. Some honor gay veterans. Others are tributes to the Holocaust victims, while some serve as reminders of the death and suffering of gay human beings still occurring across the globe. Most are places for families, friends and future generations to reflect and remember. Still others celebrate hope for a better tomorrow. As is carved upon the pink triangle granite monument in the Plaza de la Diversidad Sexual in Montevideo: "To honor diversity is to honor life."
